1912 Indian Sales Catalogue.

It has been 10 years since the first Indian rolled out the doors of the Springfield factory. And in that time Indian Motocycles have been very successful in the various competition and reliability events both at home and abroad that were a good test for both rider and machine. An impressive line up of ‘wins’ were to include 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the 1911 I.O.M Tourist Trophy race, American cross country endurance events and hill climbs.
To cater for all riders there were a mixture of machines fitted with either chain or flat belt drive, the belts requiring less lubrication and maintenance for those who lacked some of the newly required mechanical skills to keep the Indians going.
A well illustrated catalogue displaying Indians line up for 1912 included – the 4hp single with chain or belt drive . . the 7hp V twin chain drive . . the 4hp T.T. with chain drive . . the 4hp T.T with 2 speed . . the 7hp T.T. with chain drive . . and the 7hp T.T. with 2 speed. As well there are some great plate photographs of the mechanicals of the engines and a photograph of a proud Winnipeg Police Department no doubt giving their approval on their Indian motocycles.
