Perhaps the best sales catalogue to present a manufacturers machines are the complete booklet type with individual pages per model, the other type are the fold out wall poster type which can be a challenge to publish, especially if they are of quite a large size and require outside sources to scan. Even more of a problem is when the outside source didn’t know what they were doing and managed to just about shred what started out as a great piece of history and turning it into a crumpled mess. I suppose that is the risk when you entrust items into the care of spotty teenagers at the local copy centre who are more interested in what is happening on their cellphones and social media. Lesson learned!
This wall poster style catalogue didn’t fall to such a fate but it is very fragile so resulted in it having to be scanned in sections and then ‘glued’ back together. I hope you enjoy it.
The Velocette models covered are the overhead camshaft model K, the KE, the KES, the KS and the KSS. Newly released for 1928 is their model U, a 249cc twin port 2 stroke. Also included in the catalogue is a list of successes for 1926 and 1927 throughout the world of the Velocette Overhead Camshaft engine, New Zealand is there with a first in the Open Handicap at Takapuna, the rider being a Mr Ratcliffe
