Yet another sales catalogue from the very popular Velocette marque. Veloce, of the Hall Green Works, produced 6 models for 1939, the 250cc 2 stroke GTP, the 250cc ohv MOV, the 350cc ohv MAC, the OHC KTS and KSS, and 500cc ohv MSS. There is a bit more modern styling from the 1932 catalogue as the market and riders demanded, better brakes, better handling, more comfort? (possible with a rigid frame?) and that lovely black lustre paintwork.
I like Velocettes front cover of their catalogue depicting the 2 different types of riders of their machines. A very colourful drawing no doubt setting for the scene for purchasers that says “imagine yourself here with other proud Velocette owners”. This art work has well survived in the many posters and modern day re-manufactured tin signs out there.
