It has been quite a while since we have had any sort of auction that has piqued our interest, mainly because in New Zealand the collections have dried up, there is not an endless supply of old parts available (especially of pre 1950 bits) and NZ is such a small place. So when I became aware that Manshed Auctions in Australia were having a June on-line action I jumped to it to see if there was anything that might be 
of interest. I only had about 4hrs before the actual auction started on the Saturday but as there were some parts that I would like it was an exercise in working through the on-line registering process, not difficult, and then spend the next 2 days watching items come up for bidding.
Well Manshed Auctions are holding another online auction on Nov 8th and 9th. Their last one consisted of one mans private collection of parts from probably over a 50 year period and for those who were after hard to get parts for vintage Harleys (1920 to 1940) the results were definitely worth the effort. There were also a few auction lots of early JAP speedway parts and some miscel bits.
This auction is of a similar vain, a private collection of parts, mostly Harley Davidson, some NOS, mostly used, covering 1930s to 1970s, and an interesting list of complete motorcycles including a 1938 HD EL Knucklehead, a 1948 HD F Knucklehead and a 1952 HD Police Model FL Panhead. There is even a genuine 1950s Milwaukee Harley Davidson Factory Security Badge (lot 242), and for those who like to build specials there is a Howard rotary hoe V twin engine (lot 759). These are a heavy behemoth that are mostly cast iron, high on torque and low on revs. A few ended up in chopper frames for those who liked punishment. But somebody will want it. There are a total of 793 lots.
Pre-bidding is now open up to the November auction date so you have plenty of time to look and decide. You can even create a watchlist. It is very easy to register and yes they will post items out. The owner Dave Pool is a very helpful person.
