By 1930 the outlook for Humber Ltd, of Coventry was not that great and by 1931 they had ceased production of all motorcycles so this is probably one of the last Export Edition sales brochures made available to the public. Even with their 3 models on offer – their 3.49hp (or 349cc) side valve, OHV, and OCS models their advertising didn’t appear to have saved them from the death knell of the manufacturers curse – low sales. There were a few significant changes from the 1929 models, the OHV engine had fully enclosed pushrods and rocker mechanisms which definitely tidied up the top end.
Another great poster style brochure from motorcycle dealers Goodwin and Moorcroft, Karangahape Road, Auckland.
Click on the front cover below to see the small 3 page brochure.
It is a 1M PDF.
We also have a 1929 Humber 3.49 models sales pamphlet listed.
A great advertisement from 1928 THE MOTOR CYCLE magazine advertising Humbers 1928 3.49 OHV “Sports” model for £54. For the next year Humber had reduced the price to £48.10s. Such were the times.
